Prior to forming Blanchetta Firm, Kay’s career spanned 25+ years in organizations of varying sizes and stages of growth, holding several executive HR leadership roles. These experiences provided her with direct insight into many areas of business operations – HR, finance, sales & marketing, legal, administration and business management. Kay has worked across multiple industries, including publishing, manufacturing, technology, consulting, and clinical drug research.  She also spent a decade in professional sports, serving as Senior Vice President, Human Resources for Bobcats Basketball, LLC, now the Charlotte Hornets. 

She is passionate about giving back to her community . Kay was a member of many board of directors, including Community Health Services, Charlotte Area Society for Human Resources Managers, Stratford Richardson YMCA. and was a member of the steering committee for Y Achievers, a Greater Charlotte YMCA/Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools initiative to increase the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System’s graduation rates.

Additionally, Kay was a member of the Triangle Society of Human Resources Managers and North Carolina Society of Human Resources Managers leadership teams.   She is a member of the Raleigh Metro Society for Human Resources Management Chapter, and the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), a national organization.

Kay earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Iowa. She is certified in Human Resources, having obtained both SHRM-CP and PHR designations. Kay is a graduate of Leadership Charlotte and Leadership Triangle, and a member of the Goodmon Fellowship.
